Thanks a five million!

07 January 2013

In December the amount raised by The King Edward\'s School Birmingham Trust passed the £5m mark. This milestone was reached thanks to gifts from 800 Old Edwardians and other supporters over the last two and a half years.

Half of this money has been donated to the Assisted Places Fund, which provides funding for bright boys who would not be able to attend King Edward\'s without additional financial support. The Fund is currently supporting 33 boys in the school and, from this September, it is hoped this number will grow to 47 boys.

The other half was donated by Andrew Brode (1959) to help fund the new Modern Languages Building, extension of the science laboratories and a new Sixth Form Centre, which are due to be completed this summer.

The trustees and the school would like to thank all donors who have helped make this possible. Thanks to your support King Edward\'s has now raised more than almost any other UK school in the last few years.
